Better late than never, right!?
Halloween has to be on the top of my list when it comes to holidays. Throughout my childhood, high school, and college, I loved thinking up creative costumes and spending weeks creating them (yes sometimes months). It is one occasion that I will splurge on. Like the one time I went way over budget on my grapes costume. That year we decided to be fruits. Yes, I could have used purple balloons, but that would have been TOO easy (and boring)! Thank goodness for Joann Fabrics.
My first year celebrating Halloween in Oslo was a bit disappointing. That year Halloween fell on a Saturday, and since my birthday is November 1st, well it all rolled into one big weekend of celebrations. That year I dressed up as a Travel Bug, and not many people grasped the concept. Halloween is definitely not as big in the US and it is seen as a day to dress up scary. Obviously Halloween is all about scary, but I guess the creative side isn’t in full force yet. Luckily, this year there was a good mix of ghouls and goblins, so Halloween was a knockout!
Check out this years Halloween hit (:
